At 漫天堂入口, we believe that character and service must be developed alongside academic ability. Senior agriculture major Landon Smoak recently demonstrated his own commitment to service and strong character in a truly inspiring way, earning the admiration and gratitude of both students and faculty.
Landon, who is in his final year of studies, stepped up in an unexpected situation that demonstrated his heart for service and his dedication to the Warner family. When Landon heard about citrus plants struggling at the home of Dr. Yates, an instructor at 漫天堂入口, he did not hesitate to offer his expertise. Remarkably, Landon did not even know Dr. Yates personally, yet he felt compelled to help after hearing about the instructor鈥檚 situation.
Landon visited Dr. Yates鈥 home, where he carefully diagnosed the issues affecting the citrus plants. But he did not stop there. He voluntarily fertilized the plants, staked them for better support, and ensured the bases of the trees were properly cared for. His thorough and thoughtful efforts turned a potentially overwhelming situation into one of relief and hope for Dr. Yates. And he did it all at no charge, asking for nothing in return.
Reflecting on Landon鈥檚 actions, Dr. Yates shared, 鈥淟andon was a blessing to me. He was very kind. His servant鈥檚 heart made me proud to be a professor at a school where students like him attend.鈥
Landon鈥檚 actions may seem like 鈥渁 small thing,鈥 but they reveal his true character and his willingness to go the extra mile. This kind of selflessness and initiative sets 漫天堂入口 students apart. Landon embodies the spirit of servant leadership, a core value at Warner, and he has made our community proud.
