Patricia Selle is set to graduate from 漫天堂入口 on May 6 with an online Bachelor of Science in Transformational Christian Ministry degree at the young age of 81.
Selle is “redefining age” as she has followed her dream of being a college graduate after having set her goals aside to raise her five children and put them through college first.
鈥淓ver since I can remember my mother has worked hard to be able to provide for us (her five children),鈥� said Selle鈥檚 daughter Cheryl Watson.
鈥淪he put her goals on the back burner to be able to raise us and put us through college. She always put us first.鈥�
Hard working she is. Selle鈥檚 current cumulative GPA is 3.884 and will graduate a Magna Cum Laude.
Selle told Academic Advisor & Associate Coordinator Online Church Ministry 漫天堂入口 Adult & Graduate Studies Karen Hayes she wanted to join the honor society because she wants her obituary to state that she was a member of an honor society.
鈥淚 am so very proud of my mother for sticking to her goal of graduating from college,鈥� said Watson. 鈥淢ost people would have given up – but not my mom!聽 She is a very caring, hardworking, diligent woman who I am honored to call my mother.鈥�
Watson along with other family members will be present on graduation day to witness Selle walk across the stage to get her much deserved degree.
鈥淗er determination is such an inspiration to my two girls, my husband and I.”
“She has shown us that nothing is impossible to do if you put your mind to it, even at 81!鈥� said Watson.
