鈥淚 truly feel that, by the grace of God, my day to day work has eternal value.鈥 – Dr. Shawn Craigmiles
Dr. Craigmiles鈥 journey in Christian higher education reflects his longstanding commitment to biblical scholarship, academic excellence, and the mission of preparing students to serve Christ through their education and vocation. His career has been shaped by a passion for teaching Scripture, developing future ministry leaders, and strengthening the academic institutions entrusted with providing Christ-centered education.
Dr. Craigmiles joined 漫天堂入口 in 2018 as an Assistant Professor of Bible and Church Ministry, where he spent years helping students deepen their understanding of Scripture, theology, and the Christian faith. Through his teaching of both undergraduate and graduate courses, he has guided students in exploring the Old and New Testaments, developing biblical interpretation skills, and studying the original languages of Scripture. His dedication to theological education extends beyond the classroom, as he has worked to develop and revise courses that challenge students academically while encouraging them to connect biblical truth with their personal faith, professional aspirations, and Christian calling.
In 2022, Dr. Craigmiles was named Chair of the Bible, Theology, and Ministry Department, overseeing faculty, course scheduling, and the development of in-person and online academic offerings. He later served as Associate Dean of Academic Integrity, helping uphold the university鈥檚 commitment to honesty, accountability, and academic excellence. In the fall of 2024, he stepped into the role of Interim Academic Dean, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Academic Affairs. His experience and leadership ultimately led to his appointment as Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer in spring 2025, a role in which he continues to guide Warner鈥檚 academic operations and support the university鈥檚 educational mission.
Dr. Craigmiles鈥 dedication to Christian higher education extends well beyond Warner. Over the course of his career, he has taught and contributed to curriculum development at Alliance Theological Seminary, Asbury Theological Seminary, Asbury University, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Across these institutions, he has taught courses in biblical studies, New Testament interpretation, and advanced Greek, while helping students engage deeply with Scripture through careful study and theological reflection. His experience in biblical languages and exegesis demonstrates a commitment to thoughtful scholarship and to equipping students with the tools necessary to understand and faithfully interpret God鈥檚 Word.
“Dr. Craigmiles is pastoral and thoughtful in his interactions with people, and he is one of the most Christian-worldview-savvy people I have ever known. His commitment to excellence in the academic affairs of the University is truly rooted in his love for Christ and in his high view of Scripture. Moreover, he is invaluable at the Cabinet table because he is so good at questioning the assumptions that drive a lot of discussions: he helps everyone see issues and problems from different angles, and his ability to do so has helped improve our institution tremendously in just the few short months he has been at the helm of the academic enterprise.” – Dr. Sutton
漫天堂入口 is grateful for the invaluable leadership that Dr. Craigmiles provides for our community.
